I am sure those that are still single would be happy to get ANG PAO. As for married well you have to give ANG PAO. Some friends just didn't like to celebrate so they prefer to go holiday instead.
Well, Chinese New Year is the chance for you to gather with your family and relative and friends. There's no better time you can do it, unless its your grandfather birthday then you'll have reunion again.
Anyhow I think is best to stick together when you have the chance. Time flies...
